I love new years, one of the reasons is that it creates space for reflection, goal setting, and big thinking. This space can be hard to find in our increasingly real-time and hyper-connected world.
As I look back at 2020, I see a year that was tough for almost everyone. The pandemic has been a great leveler that's affected everyone across the planet equally. It's been a tumultuous year for businesses and the health of our loved ones. But it also has allowed time to slow down, introspect, spend time with family.
Earlier this year we adopted the #outisin hashtag to encapsulate our vision. More and more people are finding that spending time outdoors is helping them find themselves. Time in nature allows for mindful reflection along with the ability to meet friends and family in a safe outdoor environment.
Over this year we have learned that Camp Monk is uniquely positioned to create a community that spans the urban-rural divide. With the foundations of respect for nature and passion for enjoying the great outdoors.
We are also thrilled to have been able to build a large community of hosts that share their lands with responsible campers and show them the beauty of rural India. Through sustainable tourism practices, you provide them an opportunity to conserve their lands and protect them for future generations.
2021 is going to be exciting at Camp Monk - you will see new and unique accommodation options like tiny homes, treehouses along with curated hikes and treks close to you. We're committed to grow our community across India, and you'll soon see micro-events like Pindrop in new locations too. So whether you're a primitive camper, a glamper or someone who simply likes hanging out in nature we'll give you plenty of reasons to get out.
Camp Monk has always been about helping people connect to nature. We are more resolved now than ever before to make that happen at scale.
Happy New Year! See you on the other side, hopefully in the outdoors.
